They seek a master plan to combine work and personal buildings on a single property where everything coexists but also provides enough individual privacy to separate the fun-living from the fun-working. Environment Solutions:

  • foam-insulated building envelope to provide thermally-controlled insulated spaces
  • large roof overhangs to create shade and reduce heat gain
  • multiple HVAC units for individual control when spaces are occupied
  • multiple fireplaces with enhanced damper system to retain heat/cold as needed
  • reused mined petrified wood from area as decorative elements in stone features
  • pool positioned to catch breeze and cool outdoor living areas during summer heat

  • coordination with generational neighbors to ensure comfort with the new architecture
  • winding paths to retain original traffic patterns and character
