What it is:

The finish schedule is a color, texture, material list. We record this information in a table for each space to simplify selection and help the contractor refine the bid (The Details).

What you learn:
  • What floor, wall, ceiling, door and window finishes you prefer
  • What base, door, window, chair, crown trim you prefer
  • What cabinet style and finish you prefer
  • How texture affects room appearance and feeling
  • Which materials last longer and are easier to maintain
  • Which materials best meet your design intent
  • What equipment, appliances, fixtures and hardware you prefer
Exercises we use:
  • I email the finish schedule for feedback or confirmation
  • You provide observations and I refine the design
  • Involve your contractor to establish finish, appliance, hardware and fixture allowances
