Tutor12-Finishes
What it is:
The finish schedule is a color, texture, material list. We record this information in a table for each space to simplify selection and help the contractor refine the bid (The Details).
What you learn:
- What floor, wall, ceiling, door and window finishes you prefer
- What base, door, window, chair, crown trim you prefer
- What cabinet style and finish you prefer
- How texture affects room appearance and feeling
- Which materials last longer and are easier to maintain
- Which materials best meet your design intent
- What equipment, appliances, fixtures and hardware you prefer
Exercises we use:
Interaction:
- I email the finish schedule for feedback or confirmation
- You provide observations and I refine the design
- Involve your contractor to establish finish, appliance, hardware and fixture allowances
