What it is:

The design plan is the refined floor plan. It includes spaces, walls, doors, windows, cabinets, electrical fixtures. It helps us organize everything in your project (The Details).

What you learn:
  • Where and what size each space is
  • How all living, utility and sleeping space is organized
  • How floors align
  • Why we design different wall types
  • What cabinet types fulfill your storage requirements
  • What lighting solutions complement your design
  • What finishes you select for each space
Exercises we use:
Interaction:
  • I email the floor plan for feedback or confirmation
  • This is a critical milestone because we must refine the design to go forward
  • You provide observations and I refine the design
  • Ask the contractor to provide feedback about construction methods and systems integration
