What it is:

The block diagram and subsequent mass model (The Sketch) is a layout diagram to show size, circulation and form. It’s not a floor plan, but is the start of one. This helps us understand how big/small spaces are, how they fit together and if the building works.

What you learn:
  • What the scheme footprint and building shape is
  • How spaces lay out
  • How spaces fit together
  • How scheme is organized
  • How the overall building looks
Exercises we use:
Interaction:
  • I email the block diagram to you
  • I send pro/con feedback
  • You provide observations
  • We discuss our respective feedback
